Where Do I Even Start?!

I don't even remember the exact day that I came up with the idea of Adventures In Texas. All I remember is that I was tired of being stressed and constantly worrying about work. I knew that if I started getting more outdoors and exploring more it would probably help me out.

Luckily I just stumbled upon a grouped called Texas State Park Ambassadors while trying to keep myself busy at work. I saw it was a group of people between the ages of 18-30 years old who are stewards for the state parks in Texas. I submitted my application to become a park ambassador and never expected to hear any thing back.

A few weeks later I got a phone call from a guy named Tyler Priest who was the director for the ambassadors. He was telling me how excited he was to have me apply and join the amazing group of people. We were going to go on a training retreat the week of Thanksgiving to meet everyone else just joining and learning all about what we were going to do as ambassadors.

The ALTA training was an experience that I will never forget. It helped introduce to so many like minded people. Not many of my friends at the time were that much into hiking, exploring, and outdoors in general. But meeting all there people and creating this network of amazing people made to feel so much better about my life! It made me feel so great that after I got back I guess I decided on December 10th, 2016 that I would create a instagram account and start sharing all my outdoors/adventures that I was going to take!

And the rest is history. I slowly started growing followers over time and kept posting as much as I could. My main goal at the start of the account was to bring awareness to all the amazing places in Texas people need to go visit. Whether that be a local state park or a cool random historic down town area. I do have some gaps where I slowed down posting but I think that is for sure going to change.

Stay tuned for more content and swag to be coming out real soon!

"Cheers!"
