Commanders Home Opener 2022!

This past weekend I got to do something that I have never got to do before. I attended my very first regular season NFL game. To be clear I did attend my first preseason NFL game a few weeks ago. This game was the Jacksonville Jaguar at the Washington Commanders. I wasn’t expecting much from the game because the crowd was really lacking during the preseason game. There was a tailgate of course. It wasn’t as big of a tailgate as Dallas Cowboys tailgates that I have been too. The weather was a little rainy so I can see why people didn’t come out for the tailgate. I went into the stadium a little early because the team’s new pro shop was opening this week and I wanted to check it out. As soon as that the line was what felt like a mile long, I decided that maybe I will just look on the website. I got a shirt the first preseason game so there isn’t really anything else that I really want. With all that free time now I was going to have I decided to go watch a little bit of the pregame. It was cool to see Trevor Lawrence out there throwing dimes during the warmup. Carson “Commander” Wentz out there looking frail as always in my eyes. I’m not a fan of him because he played for the Eagles. And if you guessed, I am a Cowboys fan! But he has decent for the Commanders so far in the preseason. I was starting to get hungry, so I decided to grab a bite to eat. I didn’t get to try it last time because the line was so long, but Guy’s Chicken! It a chicken place in the stadium that has Guy Fieri’s chicken. I am not going to lie; it was really good for concession stand food! I got the chicken tenders, fries, and his honey mustard. If I go to another game, I will be getting this again! It was time for me to go up to my seat because the game was going to start soon. The game started off well for the Commanders. They took an early first quarter lead 7-3. The defense was looking strong and despite my hate for Carson “Commander” Wentz he was playing solidly, and the Commanders were up 14-3 at halftime. The fourth quarter of the game is when it got wild! It started off the Commanders barely holding onto the lead 14-12. The Jaguars started their comeback with scoring 10 unanswered point, going up 22-14. Of course, Carson “Commander” came in clutch with a 49-yard-deep bomb to Terry McLaurin. They went for two and didn’t get it. That put them down 22-20. The defense for the Commander had to put on a show because the stopped the Jaguars a few times. Once again Carson “Commander” comes to the rescue again and drives down the field and completes a 24-yard pass to Jahan Dotson for touchdown. They go for the two-point conversion and get it this time and got up 28-22. The Jaguars got the ball back with a little under two minutes and started to drive. The defense was fired up for the Commanders. They got pressure of Trevor Lawrence, and he threw an interception to Darrick Forrest and the Commanders won the game! The crowd was going crazy. You could say they were LIT! I really enjoyed going to the game, eating the awesome food, and how exciting the game was until the very last moment. I think I will have a little bit more fun if I go to a Dallas Cowboys game in Texas! Maybe next time!!! Check out my TikTok for a full video recaps: @SephStiles
